CNN and network tv When networks are reporting everyone should be evacuated why are tv correspondents reporting live from places where they should not be? Network execs should be held accountable for this.

Whoops. CNN just blew coverage of final passage of Inflation Reduction Act. A big deal. They missed announcement of vote by VP Harris in favor of talking heads and caught up while Sen Schumer was giving deserved props to entire Senate staff.

The Commandos got a strong pick in Rnd 5 with QB Sam Howell. UNC star. I’m not a huge football 🏈 guy but I bet we hear plenty more of him in years ahead.

Fred Hiatt guided the editorial page and opinion section of @washingtonpost for two decades. He was the best of the best—brilliant and intellectually rigorous, the scourge of tyrants and the most decent and kind colleague anyone could ask for. We are in mourning.

Just do like Washington Post does in any story mentioning Jeff Bezos. Put a disclosure in parathenses at some point in column or article. Do not let your strong and good analysis be stifled by silly stuff.
@dlippman Fuller disclosure: My adult son has been working for the Biden campaign for a week as a research assistant. I have been covering politics for 40 years. Should I give up covering politics? Or tell my adult son not to pursue a career he wants? Would love advice from other parents.

I strongly suspect Mr Bolton’s book only includes conversations routinely classified as “confidential” or “no foreign distribution”. A lot of TSI/SCI stuff is simply chatter that signal intelligence intercepts. Mostly the same stuff you see on cable tv.
I gave John Bolton, who was incapable of being Senate confirmed because he was considered a wacko, and was not liked, a chance. I always like hearing differing points of view. He turned out to be grossly incompetent, and a liar. See judge’s opinion. CLASSIFIED INFORMATION!!!

Watching the Ag Sec I kept thinking “it takes a tough man to make a tender chicken.” But that was apparently an unrelated Perdue. Any remember that commercial? I would have paid to remove it. Like “Kars for Kids”

How about this: you promise these sources can speak on the record and you promise not to retaliate? Deal?
When the Failing @nytimes or Amazon @washingtonpost writes a story saying “unnamed sources said”, or any such phrase where a person’s name is not used, don’t believe them. Most of these unnamed sources don’t exist. They are made up to defame & disparage. They have no “source”...

Yes because he is smart and knows what he is talking about. We need the equal with a different perspective.

Turn back your clocks just like Lee Corso probably wishes he could turn back time and keep that Memphis Tigers head on this morning. IYKYK.

The pix and reporting are predictable and only give sightseeing folks an excuse to go. Get out and encourage people to stay safe. Including correspondents.

A pet peeve of mine. Why do networks put correspondents in harms way during hurricanes (including sound and camera folks)?

Small thing. GOPers who insist on calling us “the Democrat Party”. It’s “Democratic” and we are oldest party in history. Maybe we can get even and call them “the Republicanic” party.
