This is a dark day. Politicization of our federal statistical agencies will inherently degrade trust in our federal statistics. Without this trust, we will be in the dark about the efficacy of our government policies. We must hold our leaders accountable.

Last summer, we installed solar panels on our house. Since then, we have been (slightly) a net exporter of energy to the grid. Honestly, feels great! I am grateful for the fall in the price of solar panels.

The savings rate in the United States is far below the "Golden Rule Savings Rate" -- i.e., the rate that would maximize our steady stream of consumption. More savings -> more future goods to enjoy. Government deficits lower our savings rate and make us poorer in the long run.

In FY 2024, U.S. Federal Revenues = $4.9t and Outlays = $6.8t -> we spent $1.9 trillion more than we brought in through taxes. Of every $100 raised in tax revenue, $13 was paid as interest on the federal debt. I want a Congress that raises taxes, lowers spending, or both! Please.
