One of my all-time favourites. Stare at the red dot on the woman's nose for 30 seconds, then look at an empty wall while blinking quickly. I promise it's worth it... https://t.co/l3P9NTxS8z

On most controversial issues, there are people just as smart as you who believe the opposite of what you believe. It's _your_ job to find out why they believe what they do. If you do find out why, there's about a 50% chance you'll end up agreeing with them. Deal with it.

paper out! "most animal behavior is not the result of clever learning algorithms but is encoded in the genome. Specifically, animals are born with highly structured brain connectivity, which must be compressed through a ā€œgenomic bottleneckā€.

Nice example of emergent behaviour. Each ball is just going back and forth along a straight line; in the aggregate, however, they give rise to something new: a rolling circle. https://t.co/W4dMUkvlE9

So many sociopaths. People on the left who can hardly contain their glee that the El Paso shooter was a white nationalist. People on the right who can hardly contain their glee that the Dayton scumbag is a leftist. Sickening, all around. We are such a hollow, empty people.
