New paper from the lab! Liam (@SciencyCheese) and Helder discuss a recent study by Uchida et al. regarding the role of intra-kinetochore stretching in silencing the SAC, and where these results fit in our current understanding of kinetochore function.

This work was done in parallel with Jonathan Higgins' lab, who shows that the Aurora B activity gradient can still phosphorylate kinetochore substrates in anaphase, thereby continuing to regulate attachment stability and kinetochore function.
