5/ Finally, students were able to label their last formation. If we have a huge supply of material, long-short drift and a change in coastline, we of course have the perfect conditions for the formation of a sand-spit! ๐๐

4/ Students identified that more erosion would take place in future, causing the coastline to further retreat. And when we get more erosion what do we also have? A HUGE supply of material!

3/ Having studied headlands and bays, students were also able to imagine what the original coastline was like. This was drawn on to a separate piece of tracing paper for the students to compare a โbefore and afterโ.

2/ Stretch of coastline and weโre able to identify the direction of the wind from the wave crests. This in turn allowed them to label on the direction of long-shore drift.
