Come and work in a great school with fantastic pupils. We are seeking an excellent teacher who will get the opportunity to expand the department and increase pupil numbers with a brilliant PT. Only 25 mins south of Ayr so not as far away as you might think.

Thank you to the Girvan and South Carrick Community First Responders who spent the afternoon with our child care pupils. They learned valuable life-saving skills for both adults and infants. It was a very enjoyable afternoon! #community @girvanacademy

There must always be something wrong with a woman who has been a victim of a crime. Her flaws and imperfections are to blame. She made someone do this to her. This is what you get for being a bad woman. The narrative never changes. Itโs centuries old.

Delighted models S3 Geography have been working on this week. Pupils formed 'expert groups' to learn about a land use zone before returning to their 'home' groups to teach their peers. They then applied their KU to create a paper model. #cooplearning #expertgroups @girvanacademy

A good example for the N5 history class.
#OnThisDay in 1956, the Montgomery Bus Boycott ended. After 381 days, this monumental boycott successfully ended segregation on Montgomery city buses.

N5 history learned about the reasons why WW2 is considered a turning point for the American Civil Rights Movement. This thread provides an example of why the experiences of some Black servicemen led to them campaigning in the US once the war was over.
The Battle of Bamber Bridge, 1943. Racist US military police attacked black US troops on British soil. US military authorities demanded the townโs pubs impose a colour bar, the local landlords responded with signs that read โBlack Troops Onlyโ which pissed them off. A THREAD
