@VraserX All, maybe? Smarter co-agents bring more value out of you. Though to your point, the rise in some will be faster and higher than others. I think honestly the trait of trusting an expert in your life enough to ask what they recommend instead of only asking them to execute on your

If you want to run a text model, sure. If you want to run high resolution real time AR/VR… it’s probably back to the cloud. Assuming that current models are the limit of edge compute need is… I guess interesting? Like your iPhone can store 128 home pcs worth of data from 1996,
"In 3 years, on a bigger phone, you'll be able to run a pruned-down version of Gemini 5, Grok 4, or ChatGPT. ... edge AI is by far the most plausible and scariest bear case." ~ Gavin Baker (@GavinSBaker), Managing Partner & CIO of Atreides Management https://t.co/rypOXM511m

A hint that massive nuclear adoption has only been prevented for political reasons so far, and not technical ones: Every modern US aircraft carrier has an SMR on board. It would be nominally easy to put multiples of these in all US cities. The tech is DECADES old. But nahhh…

Everything you see today on X will be forgotten. Getting emotional over tweets and opinions is pointless and honestly unhealthy. The only thing that actually matters right now is making sure you don’t die before 2030. Because if you make it, you’ll witness a post scarcity

Is Donald Trump’s push to fast-track nuclear energy adoption going to, on a results-basis (not intent), make him a legendary environmentalist?

Holy shit! Amazing! This is going to change driving forever.
Wow… Elon was right when he told me today that I could be on my phone and text while driving on FSD v14.2, depending on the context of the surrounding traffic. Tesla’s driver monitoring system only nudged me once, right when a huge truck was coming towards me in on the merging

Next time you hear about predictions of massive permanent job losses from AI or robotics, ask yourself if the proponent is committing the Lump of Labor Economic Fallacy. It might save you a lot of worrying. ____________________ The Lump of Labor Fallacy (a.k.a. ‘fixed pie of

We need policies that champion newer, modern recycling to keep up with demand for products made with recycled plastic.

Inequality doesn’t seem to be either as negative as once thought, or hardly a negative at all. I’ve long thought it was a major distraction from making everyone wealthier, which is the real unlock.
"meta-analysis of 168 studies … 11,389,871 participants from 38,335 geographical units … Contrary to popular narratives, random-effects models showed that individuals in more unequal areas do not report lower subjective well-being"

Is 2026 going to be the year when 1-5min long coherent prompt-based AI video clips break out? Or will that be later? What do you guys think?

An idea: asking your AI ‘how should I be thinking about (insert question/problem)’ and using THAT to draft the actual deep dive prompt might hugely help the output!

What do you guys think your best definition of AI slop is? My stab: ‘The relative degree, as derived by high sample size human questionnaires, of the effect of an output of AI’s likelihood of being classified as ‘oh, this is something AI generated that grabs attention’ vs. the
Has anyone encountered a good definition of “slop”. In a quantitative, measurable sense. My brain has an intuitive “slop index” I can ~reliably estimate, but I’m not sure how to define it. I have some bad ideas that involve the use of LLM miniseries and thinking token budgets.

Tirzepatide is A MIRACLE DRUG, I think!
The evidence that GLP-1 drugs can protect from cognitive decline keeps rolling out. Now, we have a meta-analysis of trials showing that these drugs provide clinically meaningful improvements in the rate of cognitive decline compared to placebo or other, conventional treatment.
