Thanks for the reminder @AIHSNYC .I often thought of this tragedy when teaching from the building which is now part of @nyuniversity May they rest in peace.
#OnThisDay in 1911, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire took place; the deadliest workplace disaster in NY until 9/11. 146 people, mostly immigrant women, died. Although most victims were Italian and Jewish girls, Irish Americans were involved in every aspect of the disaster.
