Most microschools offer tuition discounts, regardless of whether they've received philanthropic support. In fact, whether or not a microschool has received philanthropic support had no effect on whether they offered discounts to families. @microschooling https://t.co/nmegNEol8S

We love the Mississippi microschool founders we work with to help them launch. And our great local partners at @embarkms who have never not been there for them.

Some 50 microschools have opened in Mississippi in the past 5 years. They didn’t open as part of any plan for a school choice program, or any other plan. They opened because their families found a better match for their own kids’ educational needs. https://t.co/efTodrWCy9

RAND researchers tried to use NWEA scores to measure microschools’ impact, and decide that didn’t work. Families choose their microschools for many different reasons, so often individualized or specific to the particular learning space and approach. https://t.co/11WDLFwem1

There's a huge opportunity to support the educators building these incredible school models. Appreciate @michaelbhorn letting me talk about what we're seeing in our work with @BHopeCharters. Shoutout to Bill Hansen and @allisonserafin1 for building everything we're talking about.

It’s not the business opportunity that mobilizes most microschool founders—it’s the chance to make an impact on their students and communities. However, developing a sound business model is crucial to sustaining these schools and scaling their impact. I sat down with Bill

A new report from the @microschooling echoes the findings of a 2025 Teach Florida study which found that many "edu-preneurs" get tripped up by onerous regulatory requirements by local governments. The FL Legislature ought to look for ways to facilitate more K-12 enterprises.👇
