So US businesses get to pay a new tax on Vietnam's products. And they really didn't need to before. AND we get to now export. Soybeans? Because Vietnam cannot afford very much of what we produce except agriculture. New taxes for Americans with essentially no domestic winners.

Another: why do retirees get property tax exemptions? Just transferring the tax burden to families & making a baby bust worse. The taxes, amenities, including schools, paid for by the families increase the housing wealth of the retirees, which they can extract easily!.
The US government taxes younger workers trying to start families, and gives their money to wealthier retirees. There is no moral or economic justification for this abomination.

@liquidizer What does Norway have? A VAT and higher base income tax rates than the US that funds more universal or automatic programs. They have unions that compress the pre-tax wage distribution. Norway has a lot of good things. Socialism isn't one of them.

I didn't get super comfortable with this, oddly enough, until I moved to Scandinavia. Flat social hierarchy does a lot raise low SES performance in "elite" spaces. Here in Texas, kids are strongly expected to use titles like Ms or Mr, ma'am/sir. I've grown to love the Scandi way.

I don't see how this can be true. When you file taxes, you are responsible for repaying excess premium tax credits to a limit. These tax credits significantly reduced bankruptcies & severe financial distrss for millions of people & benefitted creditors.
