Thank you @irumidk. Totally spot on! That’s what I witnessed working in inpatients for 20 + years. To defend itself and maintain the status quo, the institution will resort to illogicality and absurdity while engaging with superficial change (QI, policy updates, new forms, etc)
Person improving mentally whilst on an inpatient MH ward = evidence of a good ward providing good care, nothing to do with the patient. Person deteriorating mentally whilst on an inpatient MH ward = everything to do with the patient, nothing to do with the ward or care.
