Hello, friends. For some reason, there's been a lot of movement to Bluesky this week. Lots of ex-#BioTwits gathering there. Please come by and say hi. I'm at https://t.co/ADzfuGysOk.

Just a note that things are picking up over at Bluesky. How about spending some time over there with the #BioSky crowd? You can find me at https://t.co/ADzfuGysOk. And check out @simonbayly's "biotech starter pack" of accounts to follow.

Bro!
Look… who’s….. back!! "Wednesdays with Laurence Gilman” returns to Sekeres & Price starting tomorrow! The longtime NHL exec lends his expertise on a weekly basis going forward, when he’ll analyze what’s going on with his former team in the #Canucks and the rest of the league

I asked where do you get your dose of #sciencetwitter or equivalent and the results were revelatory. #sciencetwitter is not dead yet!

Wow
I’m not going to even try to summarize the thoughtfulness and depth of this narrative by @endpts @JohnCendpts - just take a few minutes today and read it.

Monday morning update. We've added a few dozen new biotech peeps to Bluesky since Friday morning and assembled a nascent biotech feed. Please join us!
Good morning, BioTwitter friends. A brief thread about our dwindling community on this platform and an invitation. Please read on if interested…

I’m sure this one won’t last forever either – nothing does – but I bet we can squeeze a couple of good years out of it if enough of you move over there. How about giving it a try? Follow me at https://t.co/bZUAK5O51L and I’ll follow you back. Let’s try to get this thing going.

A few of us are now over at B***sky and trying to rebuild the community there. It’s a simple, uncluttered feed, and it defaults to a straight timeline. People are pleasant, fun, and informative. The trolls and bots have not (yet) arrived. It does feel like turning back time.

I know you can’t go back. Time marches in only one direction. But what you can do – or try to do – is build. The old Twitter worked because of the network effect; once a critical mass of folks were here, the party really got going. And what a great party it’s been.

That said, I still follow my inbound feed. But it's steadily deteriorating. The community is not what it once was. Real-time news flow is not nearly as sharp. And OMG the crappy ads littering my feed. Signal-to-noise is in free fall. YMMV, of course. So what to do?

First of all, I’m still here – primarily because you are. I don’t post much anymore, not because I’ve got nothing say (my IRL friends would find that hysterical), but for reasons you can probably intuit.

Used to regularly see him and his band sweat their way through raucous sets in clubs all over Berkeley when I was in grad school. Just a fantastic live performer. Way before those Top 40 hits.
