@allenholub @martinfowler Here's a slide from one of my lectures. I always love to pill up the SAFe diagram and ask "where is the work done". This is the resulting slide.

I'm looking for my next role! 14+ years as an engineer and leader in technical infrastructure, cloud systems architecture, software delivery, and developer tooling. I'd love to find an early or growth-stage startup looking for foundational infra vision and implementation. 💚TY
I’m joining the chorus of layoff announcements to report that my team and I were just let go as part of a larger downsizing. ’Tis the season of cost-cutting measures, unfortunately. In the interest of helping my team find new roles, I'd love to tell you a bit about them. 🧵

I would love it if this community could help these folks find fulfilling new roles, and I hope I can hire all of them again one day. Please share any opportunities you might have for any of my team or myself. We’d be grateful.

Richard Donbosco is the most curious and driven early-career engineer that I know. He absorbs knowledge like a sponge and can raise his understanding of a tool or technology to an advanced level seemingly overnight.

This is certainly the most talented devops/infrastructure team that I’ve had the privilege of working with in my entire career. Between the four of us, we have 45+ combined years of experience in cloud infrastructure architecture and SaaS web operations at huge scale.

Read these 3 pages. I post them every so often because I think it is some of the tightest, wisdom-packed writing on managing complex systems ever. And almost every system is a complex system today, which is why cascading failures are swirling around us. https://t.co/pnNlFLvVdz

It's me, this is what I do. Implement commodity software over bespoke solutions. Find the highest-level abstractions that you can afford. Write minimal tooling to glue it together and smooth the rough edges. Less is more.
🌸Ops:🌸 If running and scaling large systems is what gets your blood running, go join a product company and help them scale up, with a twist: Instead of using your expertise to run their infrastructure, you use it to help them run *as little infra as possible*

That slowly dawning horror about your age as you realize that the torn and ragged quiksilver t-shirt from 2003 that the teenage barista is wearing is certainly considered a chic vintage piece.

GitHub Actions billing bug top score challenge, can anyone beat $127.8MM?
Hey @github did you really mean to bill us for 30,000 YEARS of compute time in Actions usage? I don't think I can afford this $127 million bill.
