It's not enough that these folks were wrongly convicted. But then the state of Michigan does them wrong again by denying them compensation for the years they were in prison. Great story + photos from @annaleighclark and @sbmaneyphoto of @propublica. https://t.co/t29j0DnepN

Yesterday, LA County agreed to pay $700k to a reporter who was slammed to the ground & arrested by LASD while covering a protest - making this likely the largest payout to a reporter in connection w/covering 2020 protests. https://t.co/sAhLHut8a7

Just a week after a 68-year-old Sikh was beaten to death, an elderly Sikh man has been attacked again in a New York hate crime. Last weekend three men assaulted Lakhvir Singh (50) whilst he was stopped in traffic in Manhattan in his @Uber, telling him "go back to your country".

Great piece by @Will_Bunch. What happened in Acapulco should have gotten more attention not just because of the devastation but because of the fact it showed us what's happening with hurricanes due to climate change https://t.co/HRakJUK68K

I'm told that the National Registry of Exonerations will go dark in 12 months without additional funding.* It's a vitally important resource. Please consider donating. (*A previous tweet incorrectly said 1 month. My mistake!) https://t.co/WREhCtAR4z

It's important to wait and see how Detroit Jewish leader Samantha Woll died, but let's talk now about how she lived Her short beautiful life was devoted to peace, bringing Jews and Muslims together. Those in power need to listen My column (click pic)

We’re devastated to learn about the murder of Samantha Woll, a leader in the Detroit Jewish community, earlier today. Everyone deserves to be safe and live without fear. May her memory be a blessing.

This is nuts: Hundreds of books have now been pulled from schools across Iowa, many due to a new law targeting depictions of "sex acts." They include: 1984 Brave New World Slaughterhouse-Five Ulysses Critics of these laws have been vindicated. Free link: https://t.co/jWmRGzzhl0

Unlocking again now I’m home. I’ve spent the last little while in Kurdistan and seen first hand the impact of airstrikes on rojava. I know what’s happening in Gaza is awful, but we shouldn’t ignore the attacks on civilian infrastructure and anti narcotics asayish in rojava

This weekend, Turkish jets eradicated Rojava's humanitarian infrastructure. 2 million civilians without electricity, water, hospital access. Yet Rojava has survived worse threats. How has the 'improvised revolution' evolved to endure existential violence? Read my feature:

It’s very important as Non-Muslims we stand in solidarity and protect these women if we see them being harassed or attacked. Do not be a complicit bystander. Record, take photos, and physically step in as a group to HELP. Do not sit silently and watch harm being done.

Per the @RojavaIC, the Turkish state has, in the past 72 hours, carried out 175 airstrikes which have destroyed Rojava's power supply, 50+ schools, and two hospitals. Two million people have no access to water and electricity. These crimes also deserves the world’s attention.
