Game Developer - Making: As Time Surrenders - Made: No Sun To Worship, It Comes In Waves, Under A Star Long Cold, The Chameleon, etc - hi

Was watching a Max Payne review today and the guy says:
“you should be able to push cigarettes off tables and burn the whole area down but the game doesn’t let you, which ruins the experience ”
Info about my new game "As Time Surrenders" for new followers:
* Minimalist stealth-action gameplay
* Prequel to my game "No Sun To Worship"
* Inspiration: MGS:GZ, MGS3, Splinter Cell
* Minimalist story about a hero who failed to save the world
I am going to find funding (publisher/Kickstarter/my own hard earned cash), put together a small, professional team and make a high quality indie in this style
you have my word
Love NakeyJakey but NPCs are way better when they are limited, dumb and strange.
That’s what makes them unique and memorable.
I’ll take Oblivion or Kakariko citizens vs modern AI driven humanlike bots anytime.
I’d love to brainstorm why people will happily retry a Dark Souls boss 50 times but wont retry a stealth section in Styx more than 3.
I don’t know souls games well enough to properly analyze them.

a friend is trying to find the source of this image
we've tried all sorts of reverse image searches but can't find it
is it official? fan? concept? commission? who drew it?
all we know is it is old, pre AI
built a blaster system with overheting
it's very customizable so you can upgrade your weapon (model, laser color, cooling rate, shooting speed, damage, etc)
do not remake it, just port it (and fix the PC version)
it holds up perfectly in gameplay, visuals and story
and that's not nostalgia speaking, even new players agree
Game got approved super fast and we cant find any problematic bugs during testing anymore
So I could release whenever I want... 😏
But I want to wait some time after Starfield tbh
Speaking of pure gameplay (no story, length, etc), which one of these do you like more and why?
Do you prefer the minimalist and harder GZ or the infinite possibilities and faster speed of TPP?
One of the biggest inspirations for As Time Surrenders is "Portable Ops Plus".
I dont mention it often because people confuse it with Portable Ops, which sucks.
But "Plus" is WAY better and I wish they had made other "Plus" titles.
🧵 on why it's amazing
My first game "The Chameleon" was about my then-recent autism diagnosis. The character looks like me and the ending reveal is how I felt at the time.
I didn't go too deep into it because I was scared to open up, but now I want to put a lot more personal meaning in my games.

Most people dont care if a game is an asset flip or ugly or a ripoff or uses AI or is unfinished or buggy
As long as it scratches a specific itch, nothing else matters
I think Palworld also shows that we (I?) live in a bubble online that doesnt reflect the majority’s opinions
