On Sky News this morning we have the honorary chairman of both Maccabi Tel Aviv and Halopeol Tel Aviv fan clubs to explain why the riots you might see on the news are actually the fault of Hamas.

*Wiljahelmaz—one of the most popular Germanic names, which spawned Wilhelm and William—literally meant ‘welcome helmet’. I like to think it meant a strong helmet that saved your life when you got hit over the head in battle, making you think, “Thank God I was wearing that.”

We also want to remind our listeners that Gaza has for many centuries been a centre of learning and high culture; was once famous for its wine, its pleasures and its Dionysian festivals; that it is a place of great wealth as the terminus of the Arabian incense route; and a city

In Old English, mood was the word for “mind” - or sometimes, “heart” or “spirit.” So a mentally-ill person was “moodsick,” a proud person was “overmood,” and a depressed person was “ormood,” meaning “dispirited.” Anxiety was sometimes called mōdġewinna, or ‘the foe of the mind’.

I don't think a regular climb down is going to cut it on this one lads. You supported violent football hooligans being flown in to attack my city. I expect a grovelling fucking apology and mandatory anti-racism training.

This is an amazing concept and yet one that makes sense to me... or indeed anyone who has tried to move a heavy bit of furniture!

Seems even James O’Brien got the “don’t mention the Maccabi Tel Aviv hooligans proving they are indeed hooligans” memo. Extraordinary 🧐 @LBC

Banks should be obliged to help customers cancel direct debits. If not they are collaborating in extortionate practices. Do write to your MP and ask issue be raised in Parliament
@Jennife10651535 @DenisMacShane @wesstreeting I've had no problems on line until recently but even things like cancelling a direct debit, when I cannot physically go to a Bank (if one can be found!) become a challenge. Growing old in today's techno-mad world is increasingly difficult and frustrating.

The Economist has been steadily putting out editorial after report after analysis about the likelihood of a US share price collapse. It’s not reassuring to say the least.

Banning an Iranian table tennis child prodigy is absolutely vital to protect national security. Whereas banning violent and racist Israeli thugs from rampaging through the streets of Birmingham is tantamount to a second holocaust.
🇮🇷🏓 Iran’s 11-year-old table tennis prodigy, Yasin Shaari, has been denied a UK visa and will miss the World Hopes Championship in Sheffield. Despite earning his spot as Asia’s champion, travel ban puts breaks on his international debut. @presstvsports

if we had a functioning political system, today would be dominated by stories and questions about why a sitting prime minister chose to weaponise anti-semitism to go to bat for a load of football hooligans. it won’t be bc most politicians +msm journos went along with the nonsense

I want an apology from Starmer. Personally. That I can take to every single colleague across the country who gives up time to sit on a SAG. Because it takes a toll. Knowing that your decisions could cost lives. And right now, a whole plethora of those responders are fuming 😤
