@leah_rosenbaum @mefrankel @TheWarHorseNews Thank you for writing this. Though their numbers are dwindling, so many Vietnam vets have spent years battling illnesses they have/had no idea were related to their service. My dad, who became ill at age 40—and spent the rest of his life in and out of hospitals—was one of them.💔

Last week, after @marshall_anne broke this important story, I asked how in 2024-a decade after the end of #DontAskDontTell-the military hadn't fixed this yet. Today, President Biden took a major step to do just that. #LGBTQ #veterans

How many stories are there like Mona McGuire’s? Likely tens of thousands, experts say. But the military has so far denied or delayed our FOIA requests to reveal the true scope and impact of its discriminatory past.

In 2024, a decade after the end of #DontAskDontTell you’d think the military had fixed this by now. But this powerful story by @marshall_anne shows how LGBTQ veterans forced to plead guilty to charges of sodomy and indecent acts are still paying the price.

VA will begin considering appeals from veterans with “bad paper” discharges. But thousands of veterans ousted over sexual orientation could be left out.

Dusting off my X to showcase another powerful investigative report by @DavidANickerson & @juliasulek on Santa Clara County’s tragic missteps in the fentanyl death of 3-month-old baby Phoenix Castro. This inside look at the decisions made is infuriating.

By baking the impacts of climate change into our understanding of what’s typical, we obscure its true impact. That’s the story of California’s “record” snowpack year, which was no record, per my analysis. https://t.co/QewlleYPKN

1983 was the long-denied record holder, clinching first as the largest snowpack at 231% of normal, a first-of-its kind analysis by the Bay Area News Group found.
