Today I’m going to share some of the quotes from the research. https://t.co/Q4CqyKvqMd It’s for reflection and it’s time for a rethink. EYs cannot continue in this way.

New research from @meechan_d & colleagues at @NottmTrentUni & in @ObserverUK looks at issues impacting #earlyyears since the introduction of new rules around childcare. With increased numbers of children nurseries often ‘crowd control’ more than educate. https://t.co/mkqs004Bqj

Arguably most significant +concerning figure in PISA coverage is in 2nd-last par here: UK now "has 2nd-lowest average life satisfaction of 15-year-olds across OECD". Ed policymakers haven't prioritised children's mental health. Need to reflect on this.

Global slump means maths and reading rankings still up slightly in OECD assessment of 15-year-olds, but results vary for UK nations

It's not very often that I get into school when pupils are in as a parent/governor/academic, but really enjoyed visiting with Steven the gecko yesterday! Thanks for the invite @StAndrewsOLAAS Experiential learning at its best :-) @UniNorthampton @eunice_lumsden @HelenCaldwel
Meet Steven...the Gecko! Year 2 had an enormously exciting afternoon meeting a real life reptile! The children now know lots of facts about how they survive, their habitat and which countries they like to live in. Thank you Mr Meechan and Davi! 🦎🦎 🦎
