@adamjohnsonCHI I’m skeptical they’ll even lie about this one. They’re in prime “vote blue no matter who” posture now since Trump is so bad. I’m afraid they’ll feel they don’t have to compromise on this bc people are so scared.

While Trump “floods the zone,” we must stay focused.  NO to oligarchy, tax breaks for the rich and cuts to working class programs. NO to authoritarianism and unlimited power for one man. YES to growing the union movement and raising wages. YES to health care as a human right.

Corporate manslaughter is a crime in several jurisdictions, including England, Wales,➕ Hong Kong. Behind every denial is a person fighting for their life, while corporations count their profits 💰 #MedicareForAll

Health care is a human right—but private insurance corporations exploit Medicare’s good name by delaying and denying care for the sake of profit. For #Medicare59, Congress must protect and expand the program for current and future generations.

BREAKING: The Biden administration will repeal parts of a Trump-era rule allowing health care institutions and providers to deny treatment based on personal beliefs. This news comes at a critical moment. We have a right to access health care without discrimination.

Workers are standing up all over this country against record corporate greed and income and wealth inequality. They're saying, “Hey, maybe we deserve a fair shake and we’re going to stand up and fight for it.” It is time for the Democratic party to stand with them.

On this day in 1865, enslaved people in Texas were notified by Union Civil War soldiers about the abolition of slavery. This was 2.5 years after the final Emancipation Proclamation which freed all enslaved Black Americans. #Juneteenth  But Slavery continued… A THREAD

The current bill supporting Medicare for All has been co-sponsored by #Maryland U.S. Reps. @RepSarbanes , @RepRaskin , and @RepKweisiMfume , and the past bill also included current state @OAGMaryland, a former congressman

Redeterminations of Medicaid eligibility have begun, which will lead to 15 million people being kicked out of the program/forced to switch insurance plans or go without insurance. #MedicareForAll would provide continuous healthcare from birth to death.

The United States is the only industrialized country in the world that does not guarantee its citizens health care.

Medicare For All strengthens care, lowers costs, and improves choice. I’ve proudly supported a single-payer system since I got to Congress, because it delivers the best health care for Americans. This week, my colleagues and I reintroduced #M4A.

Normalize acknowledging that being “covered” by for-profit health insurance doesn’t really mean you’re covered - Unlike #MedicareForAll, which fully covers you from birth to death with ZERO financial barriers to care

Today, along with @RepDebDingell and @SenSanders, I’m introducing the Medicare for All Act of 2023. Health care is a human right. Everybody in, nobody out. Let’s get this done. #MedicareForAll

Yes, #MedicareForAll is the fair and just solution to our nation’s broken health care system – but it would also save billions of dollars and tens of thousands of lives per year!
