My thoughts today are with the family and friends of UDR Corporal Brian Brown, murdered 37 years ago today along with his search dog, Oliver, in an IRA bomb explosion in my hometown of Kilkeel. Brian and Oliver were murdered trying to protect us - We must never forget them!

Peadars uncle was called Peter Thompson - Peter, along with 2 others were shot by the army, after they had robbed a betting shop in Belfast. They were wearing balaclavas & had imitation firearms - Between the 3 men that had 36 previous convictions for burglary, theft & assault.

Just for a reference:. Kieran was serving 18 years for possession of firearms and explosives, he was caught transporting a bomb - A bomb which would have resulted in murder and mayhem. Pat, now Sinn Fein West Belfast MLA, was serving 15 years for bombing a cash and carry shop.

It is entirely appropriate!. Why shouldn't the Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland visit a cultural event in Kilkeel? . Why shouldn't he meet one of the main organisers, and an elected representative for the area? . I'm embarrassed for the likes of Brian!.
Is it appropriate for the Chief Constable of a force which has problems recruiting Catholics, to have a photoshoot with members of the Orange Order & a Unionist public representative? (Can't wait to see him hobnobbing with the Chief Marshal in Milltown Cemetery next Easter!)
