NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO APPLY FOR UNEMPLYOMENT DURING A PANDEMIC OR CRISIS. WHY CANT WE HAVE SICK PAID OR HAVE UTILITIES BE COURTEOUS AND POSTPONE BILL PAYMENTS AND LOAN PAYMENTS WHY CANT LANDORDS STOP BEING PREDATORY AND HAVE A MONTH OFF RENT. THIS COUNTRY IS ASS 1/5 STARS
Shoutout to those jobs and companies tho that are giving their employees sick paid leave and landlords who are generous and understanding of the dillema we are currently in.
UCLA is on the westside of Los Angeles. It is by Westwood and Brentwood both neighborhoods with heavy Zionist populations and with the Israeli consulate. These students are bravely displaying their solidarity for Palestine knowing the threat of Zionist inciting violence
I love cardi with my entire heart but I hate when Latinos get up in arms about being called “Mexican”… there’s nothing wrong with being Mexican and these adverse reactions simply add to the xenophobia.
I’m convinced the people who take the Mexican Flags to these ICE protest are reactionary and aren’t aware that the Mexican government is as complicit as the U.S government for the kids and families locked up at the border
@gabexcastro
@Whatapityonyou
No you’re not better learning a trade stop that many people go to college to further their knowledge on a certain area. I can’t believe capitalism has made us believe that a degree is only worth pursuing if we can get a good paying job.
@slimjimshawtyy
You really said “hey don’t be sad your neighborhood is being gentrified the stadium n the team in your backyard is in the Super Bowl!” you’re silly
Mexico’s xenophobia was on full display when the agents refused to open the doors to let the migrants escape the flames. We need to stop excusing the inhumane treatments n the way Central Americans are viewed as subhuman, disposable in the eyes of Mexicans at home n in the states
The majority of ppl in Inglewood don’t want the super bowl of these stadiums here and it is a shame we never had a say in wether we were okay with them or not
City of Inglewood just displaced an unhoused encampment off the 105 exit. There is no ethical housing plan here. The plan is to remove people from the premises to not show the wealthy the failures of the city and to prepare for the Olympics, Super Bowl and The Clippers stadium
It is rumored that UCLA chancellor called the LAPD metropolitan detention center and requested that we be held longer than we should have. I got arrested around 5:30am and was not let out until 8:45pm
Tbh idk how to feel seeing white people go to Oaxaca to learn how to cook our traditional food and then open up their own restaurants while wearing our traditional regalia it feels so weird
@JesusOhh_
why no Central American flags when the majority of the people in those detention camps and cages come from Central America looking for refugee something that the Mexican and American government have both denied them
Gentrification is demoralizing to the people of the community. Inglewood is in the process of being gentrified. Today, the city council will ultimately approve of Murphy’s Bowl, the new home of the Clippers but there really isn’t any room to build a massive basketball stadium
Students have always been the heart and engine of global social movements, especially in Latin America. To see these students in Columbia and across the U.S take action to get their universities to disinvest from Israel and to stop repressing free speech is inspiring
Inglewood is trying to make itself a safer and nicer city and they think the solution to that is by displacing thousands of people who doesn’t meet their standards of a substantial citizen, or in other words kicking out the poor. Instead of investing in a stadium, Inglewood..
The City of Inglewood has faced a small amount Gentrification, The average selling price for a apartment has almost doubled since 2012, median rent has increased from $1,900 to $2,600. Inglewood is changing, not only the surface but it’s cultural fabric as well.

@disrupthehuman
this is wrong and self centered. colonized ppl living in the U.S benefit from the exploitation of the global south. The global south is a geographic location with its own material conditions I really do not know why and I’m concerned why this has so many likes
if you’re in LA, thank a oaxacan today. they work in kitchens in LA from street vendors to restaurants and are cuisine is one of the most unique and looked out for in the city
If the 141k ppl that liked this can donate at least a dollar or 50 cents to this unfortunate family, it would be of great help. If the government can’t fully aid us, then we have to step up and support our brothers and sisters in these confusing times.
@__dinuhh
White conservative racists and bigots literally have killed black, brown, transgender, gay people for decades and you’re defending a man who probably got a paper cut, sis please. We are always suppose to be the bigger person by not retaliating and enduring the violence towards
THREAD (ING,CA):
If you live in the City of Inglewood, you probably received a ballot in the mail recently for a special election in November. The ballot is for two proposed tax measures, measure H and measure I, who differ in practice but ultimately have the same principles (1)
I think it’s important to isolate Spanish, the language, from people who speak Spanish in LatAm to analyze how it is still used as a tool for colonization on surviving indigenous people in the Americas.
@themermacorn
True and it can be just them feeling grateful that someone with such a big platform is spreading the word. I guess the bar is down so low if he really is the one that has the largest reach 😞
Capitalism isn’t when iPhone. Capitalism is when iPhone remakes the same product every year and sells it to people to fulfill their consumerist needs meanwhile paying coins and exploiting African labor in the Congo for cobalt
@cerotez
Yea 😅😳 in 1938 I believe. Their argument was person of the year was not an indicator of someone’s character rather the impact they made on society that year, good or bad lol.
I’m so angry here are some things these mf cops did to us.
1) they had us on the sheriffs bus for two hours cuffed and in tight spaces before we left campus
2) they stole my cigarettes
3) they drove us around LA for one hour, stretching the time of getting to our destination
Crazy I met this couple in Echo Park who immigrated here and lived their whole lives in Echo Park then got displaced from their home due to high increase of living and resorted to living at the park. Yea what about them
@CD6Nury
?
"What about the immigrants who come to this country with absolutely nothing and BUST THEIR ASSES working to lift their families. Why don't they have a right to a safe park?"
@CD6Nury
"Those are the people we should be standing up for, the working poor."
Y’all don’t understand stocks and how it doesn’t reflect the value of a company or the overall economy. Can y’all stop using these graphs and just continue boycotting you’ll know when they are struggling financially
Steve Lacey is a Grammy award winning producer and musician 💀 im sorry a Black artist is not a new artist just bc white people barely started listening to them and recognizing them off tik tok
Steve Lacy is a relatively new artist, but he's making one thing clear early ... he won't tolerate things being thrown on his stage -- and made an example out of one fan, and their phone, in particular.
Since I’m leaving to Oaxaca on Sunday for an unspecified amount of time, I thought I’d drop something I wrote back in October during the whole LA city hall scandal. 1/2
“But Cuba doesn’t have elections they don’t get the right to vote” uhm yes they do they even had their constitution rewritten in 2019 while we in the U.S still work under a 400 year old white supremacist document that enslaved black people.
