New entry in my ongoing series “Does the @globeandmail Notice Other Provincial Elections?” I’m getting daily updates on the BC election. Meanwhile, I have this feeling there might be SK and NB elections going on too. But how would I know?

On this day in 1986, Canadian author Robert Munsch released his book Love You Forever. One of the most successful children's books ever written, it is beloved by generations of Canadians and others worldwide. Let's learn more about it (and try not to cry)! 🧵1/10

Shocked by this! What a loss.
End of an era. Gutted to have to announce this today. Proud of what @UKandEU has achieved and very grateful to all those who have worked with us https://t.co/0pIen8RWzQ

Key chart to keep in mind as the Conservatives suffer their worst ever defeat: The Tories didn’t lose this election because they were too right wing on some issues or too left wing on others. They lost because voters of all stripes judged them to be incompetent and dishonest.

My mum’s book group read @DrMichaelMosley’s Just One Thing recently and one of them produced this summary of his brilliant, sensible, achievable advice (that we could all benefit from following!) #MichaelMosley #RIPMichaelMosley

Do you know what is really sad? Almost every single woman journalist I know who has gone off on mat leave has come back to work incensed and desperate to write about how awful at least some of their care and advice was in birth/postnatally. We really do deserve so much better.
Deep breath. I wrote for @guardian about how under the extreme pressure to breastfeed my first baby, I agreed to take domperidone, a drug frequently prescribed off-label to aid lactation, without being told of its potentially serious mental health impacts. https://t.co/bPifApsQ7n

#VoterID requirements always mean that some eligible electors won't be able to on election day. The numbers affected could be hugely problematic at a general election. The evidence-based solution, we proposed to Parliament, is straight forward: 🗳️Extend the forms of ID
I’m not one for complaining but I am gutted! I spent 27 years in the Army and today I was going to vote in my local elections. I was sadly turned away at the door as my Veteran ID was not allowed as formal ID. I will be fighting for this “special ID” to be “more” formal🇬🇧

I had the exact same kind of letter after the birth of my second child. It was awful!
Just come home to a letter from the NHS threatening me, a type 1 diabetic (incurable), saying I might be fraudulently claiming free prescriptions and that they're going to send me a £100 penalty if I don't respond within three weeks. I hate this country.
