One day factory farming will meet the same fate as greyhound racing and dog fighting, cockfighting, and bear-baiting before it: Slow decline ... then state and national bans ... then disbelief that we ever let people treat animals this way.
New Zealand is one of only five countries where commercial greyhound racing is still permitted and practiced. Today we have announced we will be ending greyhound racing.

A question for you: at what step do you stop agreeing with this logical argument relating to animals? (see below) Please comment "disagree" on the first step you disagree with (and if you have time, please explain why you disagree with that step). Thanks! π π§΅

Joni Mitchell is almost certainly the most influential female musician of the 20th century. How do we only have one, mediocre biography of her? I would devour all 1,500 pages of a Robert Caro-esque book chronicling her life & music in a heartbeat.

Also, insane animal cruelty! TL;DR: To model PTSD in rats, they use Bobcat urine, a rat predator they're scared of. Apparently this is cheaper than electrifying their cage and shocking their little paws? https://t.co/cKWsn8TOvz

Folks are dunking on these takes for all the right reasons (science funding is <1% of the budget and is underfunded), but @hankgreen figured out this research is on PTSD <> alcoholism, i.e. veteran's health. lol, lmao even

Why do we need a Department of Government Efficiency? In 2020, the U.S. government spent $4.5 million to spray alcoholic rats with bobcat urine.

Never worked with them and don't know anyone that works there, but Asimov sounds pretty rad!
Over the years, people have asked: What does Asimov do? This is our brief response. At a high level, we think biology is an advanced form of molecular nanotechnology. Our goal is to create tools and software to more reliably engineer cells, thus bolstering humanityβs ability to
