Should you join TinySeed? My takeaway: Merely joining won't suffice, but if you're a hard-working founder ready to act on expert advice, TinySeed can propel your startup far beyond solo efforts. It's about leveraging the opportunity to its fullest.

A favorite moment: In London, over drinks, @einarvollset shared priceless advice on enterprise pricing - "If your quote is less than the sum of the hourly wages of those attending the demo, your pricing is too low." That insight alone boosted our MRR by $3k from a single deal.

How did it go? We grew by 400+% during the 12-month program. I am sure I could have grown during those 12 months without TinySeed too, but for sure it would not have been as much as 5X.

Was giving up equity as a bootstrapper worth it? Definitely. TinySeed's ongoing value exceeds the equity shared. Our relationship extends beyond the 12-month program, enhancing JBoard's growth and/or potential exit strategies if the time comes.

The real value? Beyond $ and perks, it's the mentorship from @robwalling, @einarvollset, and other top mentors [, plus a supportive community of fellow founders. A network that genuinely aims to uplift each other.

Mistake N3: Not Investing in SEO.Just opening a job board and launching it on ProducHunt will not get you far. To have a successful job board, you will need to have consistent traffic, and one of the most effective ways to achieve this is SEO = content + backlinks.

The easiest way to avoid the above 2 mistakes is to use a tool like @ahrefs, which will give you an idea about how many searches there are a month for that keyword and how hard the competition is in the niche.

Mistake N2: Picking a Niche With Tough Competition.I have seen many beginners start a job board for RemoteJobs, some inspired by the great success of @levelsio. But they miss that the players in the niche are established, and it's hard to compete with them, especially on the SEO.

Mistake N:1 Picking a Niche That’s Too Small.Regardless of the execution, if you pick a niche where there is not enough potential traffic, your job board will fail. So you need to make sure there is enough search volume or potential to build an audience before starting.

Starting a new book: Touching Two Worlds by @sherrywalling. As someone who mostly listens to audiobooks, love the fact that there is an Audible version right from the launch πŸ™

The recession will get rid of competitors who are pouring VC money into unprofitable business models. Isn't that an excellent opportunity for capital-efficient bootstrapped companies?! wink wink.

πŸ’― agree with this! And I bet the quality of candidates from a podcast audience will be way higher than from a generic job board. Considering most people who are listening to professionals podcasts are obviously looking to grow and working on their skills.

Podcast advertisers always push product. But it’s more valuable to hire 1 employee than add 1 customer. Today @theSamParr and @ShaanVP shouted out Blockworks and we’ve had 50+ applicants. One idea is that startups should use pods to promote jobs instead of just pushing product.
