Dad sent me this picture. It’s 1 of 5760 saplings he just planted in our family forest in Finland. He’s 71. He said they’ll make a good #carbonsink. 🌲🌲🌲

Research needs to be accessible to have impact, and while difficult and slow, you need to record and measure impact as well. Valuable advice for #postdocs from @martiskainen of @EDRC_UK at the “Influencing Policy as Researchers” event.

The #NHS review makes a clear link between poor quality homes & health outcomes. Making homes more comfortable with better #energyefficiency and ventilation can also help reduce #energybills. Investment in home improvements = better quality of life.

We need to improve homes by developing long-term programmes that target help to people who live in #fuelpoverty, also looking at energy market reforms.

"Energy prices remain about £700 above pre-pandemic levels – and are rising this winter – this poses a serious challenge. But the cheapest energy of all is the energy never used because a house retains its heat and stays warm in winter.".
