Last year, I took my son on a college visit to @Baylor. I walked away from the visit having realized that the school is apostate despite its claim to be “unambiguously Christian.” There was no way I was going to let my son attend there because fake Christian is worse than not.

Problem is that your professed religion doesn’t believe in keeping religion and politics separate. Indeed, it demands the opposite (Rom. 13). So you have to pick between your church or your own political ideology. Can’t do both.
My constituents didn’t know I was Catholic actually @calvinrobinson , as it shouldn’t be relevant. Naively I believed (believe) in keeping religion and politics separate and that we should be a secular country….

Even without Acts 17:26, it should be an entirely non-controversial position that God ordains national borders. That proposition doesn’t fully answer the question of what a Christian ethic of criminal justice should be. But it is a relevant data point in the discussion.
God ordains national borders (Acts 17:26). Generally, to cross a national border illegally is to rebel against God’s authority (Rom. 13:2). Certainly any discussion of a Christian ethic of immigration must *include* an acknowledgement of these principles.

Republican judges will delay retirements to deny Trump vacancies to fill. They already are.
Trump’s first-term judicial nominees are conservative, but (with very few exceptions) they are not Trumpists, and that means when Trump’s demands conflict with the text and the original meaning of the Constitution, they’ll side with the Constitution over Trump — an unforgivable.
