Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that “free speech” is actually a $8/mo subscription plan

In output-first planning, present is clearer than future: we only know roughly what features we will build in Q4 but here are our Q1 user stories In outcome-first planning, future is clearer than present: our Q4 goals are set, in Q1 we will look for the right paths to reach them

When I brought up that the ideas of "desirability, viability, and feasibility" should be maintained into delivery, people said they were too high-level concepts - but I disagree. These ideas *must* cascade down to delivery, or teams won't be working towards valuable outcomes. 🧵

I talked to a super smart 20 year old this week. All the potential in the world, but had a major major flaw in his thinking. This flaw is becoming the most common mistake I am seeing young people make early in their career. Let's break it down:

@spamaps The best definition of burnout I’ve come across: “Being in a job you deeply care about but had no autonomy to bring about change.”

I have become uncomfortable with the simple view that to deal with a situation that is urgent, complex and dynamic the correct response is top-down autocratic command + control. (Or perhaps more accurately with how the top-down autocrats apply “command and control”?) 1/n

This log4shell vulnerability in log4j shows how critical it is to have modern software development practices in place even in "legacy" systems. The trivialness of the exploit and the potential impact on our orgs really highlights how going slow is a huge risk.

Remote work (outside of a pandemic) is great if your team understands how to work this way. I am curious what combinations of personalities and subordinates might work best? Myers-Briggs. I am an #ENFP. You?
