Excited to see our NMH paper featured here for #WorldMentalHealthDay! https://t.co/ij54cQIDHK Many psychiatric symptoms are inherently social. @XiaosiGu, @JoeBarnby, & I call for models that reflect processes most relevant to our questions, esp. for those about social symptoms

The biggest predictor of coding ability is Language Aptitude. Not Math. A study posted in Nature found that numeracy accounts for just 2% of skill variance. Meanwhile, the neural behaviors associated with language accounted for 70% of skill variance.

📢 New paper out now in @NatureComms Shared computations underlie how we acquire behaviors that simultaneously affect the self and others, incl. actions that benefit the self at the expense of others & actions that benefit others at the expense of self 🧵 https://t.co/2XiptFEsez

Thrilled to see our TinyRNN paper in @nature! We show how tiny RNNs predict choices of individual subjects accurately while staying fully interpretable. This approach can transform how we model cognitive processes in both healthy and disordered decisions.

How do people teach? 🍎🧑‍🏫 We know mentalizing is important for teaching (eg simulating a learner's mind) but that can take effort 🤔 New work led by @harootonian expands this picture by examining how people also teach with *less effortful heuristics*
