A bitcoin mine in Mongolia during the freezing winter kept overheating and shutting down until engineers installed cameras and found the reason was stray cats sleeping on the warm machines, blocking ventilation and forcing the mining rigs into automatic shutdown.

You would think some big companies would do multiple region HA like 2 or 3AZ in each region. But due to being cheap they don't do it and then they fail. Rarely AWS fails cross complete regions example S3 but cloud will always fail at some point you must deploy in multiple

With the AWS outage today I would like to report Vnish firmware was unaffected! Thanks to some proper routing and redundancy our system automatically shifted traffic to non AWS servers to mitigate causing no downtime.
