To top it, NCLT is happily earning interest on the Rs 750 crores deposited by JP Associates on Supreme Court's behest. All because JP promoters & ICICI Bank continue to claim at NCLT that the money belongs to them, delaying the entire resolution process. What a circus!

While this is an important victory for home buyers, the end goal of completed homes will not be achieved by this alone. Infact as the bench pointed out, frivolous cases of insolvency should not be allowed by NCLT.

No one should expect the government to be a nanny to bail out the sector. But what's stopping @FinMinIndia from bringing banks, NCLT, insolvency professionals all on one page and directing them project completion must be the first priority. Banks will all fall in line.
