Have a new article out in AJIL Unbound on automated decision-making. It examines the many real concerns but argues that critique must be evidence-based, avoid romanticisation of 'human systems', and help foster digital accountability tools. Open access! https://t.co/9jChxPg4M6

Are arbitral awards the end point of ISDS? In this EJIL article, @taylor__stjohn, @malcolmoslo, @YuliyaChernykh, @Oyvind_Stiansen, T. Gulseth Berge, and @LawProfPuig show that investor-state bargaining continues in the shadow of awards. https://t.co/VDXnwDMJRM

Norway will always support a UN Secretary General determined to defend the Charter and the principles therein, irrespective of who violates it. No country should declare the SG persona non grata for carrying out his mandate.

Norway stands firmly behind UNSG @antonioguterres in his defense of the UNCharter and efforts to maintain peace&security. I strongly oppose attempts by Israel to undermine the UNSG and the UN. The crises we face, incl. in Middle East, call for a strong UN, with our full backing.

Excellent piece by Arash Abizadeh explaining the reasons behind PAPA’s entire editorial board resignation (JPP did the same a few months ago) and the exploitation on which (commercial) academic publishing is based.

Giant publishers are bleeding universities dry, with profit margins that rival Google’s. So we decided to start our own, says academic Arash Abizadeh
