Confirming my bias. I send patients home if they did not take the P2Y12 inhibitor we prescribed to take at least five days prior to TCAR or TFCAS. Don’t load
To load #antiplatelets or not to load on the day of #TCAR. What’s your practice? Here is our new article from #VQI showing an increase in stent thrombosis with antiplt loading (mainly P2Y12 inhibitors) https://t.co/gfQXXYCNdo

Excellent presentation by Mo Hamouda at @SouthernVasc presenting outcomes of CKD patients in the BEST-CLI trial, <50% 3-yrs survival in patients on dialysis. GFR<30 , based on spline model, predicts worse outcomes @BEST_CLI @UCSDsurgery @VascularSVS

Thanks Mike for posting our work. Always try to confirm my bias and anecdotal experience with the best possibly designed study. Clearly not level 1 evidence but confirm what many of us have experience. No staples allowed on my patients following LE bypass

@JVascSurgCIT @VascularMaximus @KatDiLosa @CaitlinWHicks @malas_mahmoud @farkomd @canuc_57 @VascularSVS @JVascSurg @mimmieMD Similarly Historical TFCAS outcomes compared to TCAR in industry sponsored studies or comparative studies with large cohorts in VQI carried twice the risk of stroke.
