For context: I have stage 4 prostate cancer (Gleason score 5+5 that has spread to my bones). For now, it’s in remission thanks to a mix of chemotherapy, radiation, and a couple of other drugs. This is a temporary condition, given time it *will* come back.

As a cancer patient, this is so unsettling. The difference of AI driven research curing cancer or a human “eventually” doing it later is the difference in me living long enough to finish raising my kids and not living that long. And all of that so they feel better?

This is a great act of transparency, not unlike showing sales tax on a bill, another arbitrary assessment imposed by the state.

@Jason The biggest tell on the other side of this debate is when they say “if X talent is so great why can’t they be great in X country”. When you say that as a gotcha it means you don’t actually know why America is exceptional.

She says this like “they just taste of chemicals” and are “actually nice” are mutually exclusive.
