Agreed it is staggering that this is not screened for in the UK as early diagnosis is obviously key. Feel like this should be more of a priority than the chicken pox vaccine which was already available for parents to buy if they wished 🤷♀️
Watched Jesy Nelson's video. Apparently the heel prick test in the UK only screens for 10 conditions. In Italy, it's 47. In 2023, they recommended a study to study if SMA should be added to screening. 2023 study to inform. No way the UK is keeping pace with medical advances.
