@GhosstXO
@ruehollands
All of the actors had a choice and some have even used body doubles or prosthetics. Let's stop making it seem like Zendaya's the reason they had to do it.
@ami_dda
@tbydoja
@PopCrave
so if a few people watching a tv show with 3 warnings at the beginning as well as the end of the episode with multiple resources decide to emulate a tv show character everyone hates, that sounds like a problem that goes beyond a tv show. you're far too grown to be doing that.
@isthis1aburner
@aokivarda
the only thing rue and mj have in common is being high schoolers. in reality, mj would more than likely be terrified of rue. marie was quite literally the only good part of that movie, and why is disney acting being brought up when she was a child on a poorly written sitcom?
@DAYASCHANl
white pr is ridiculous bcs i distinctly remember ppl being worried before press started bcs of how atrocious her red carpet looks were only for publications to call her the standard now bcs she got one tour right for the first time in her career
@ATOMlCATS
@Consuelaphalang
@aokivarda
so you're blaming her having support on twitter for people hating on her for roles that don't exist? is she not supposed to have fans now?
@daminionbob
@QingDiamond
@howardsdemie
rue and jules got episodes because they are essentially the leads of the show and their narrative drove season 1. we don't need this for every other character. you got a version of them last time and they were lackluster in comparison.
@andrerevived
@jitomesyou
absolutely every scene they showed in that video was someone yelling and screaming. the only difference were that they were men.
@highassnoah
@aokivarda
so....she's supposed to be "bad"...based on a minimal amount of movies that she's not responsible for writing nor directing? that's it?
@isthis1aburner
@aokivarda
bringing up a role where she got nothing but praise for her performance as well as multiple nominations isn't the drag you think it is. and why are we suddenly trying to discredit rue, which is obviously her breakout role?
@Skute
@cinebennett
This is a projection and a false assumption, not a point. Zendaya only gained executive powers after the pandemic. In season one, she had no power towards her role. Every actor during the casting call was told that there may be a possibility of nude scenes. It's their own choice.
@zzbz7969
@joyszmaree
it's funny because you genuinely cannot say that about her performance compared to anyone on the show. you can't romanticize her role. can't say the same for half the other ones y'all hype up simply because it's not her.
@ami_dda
@tbydoja
@PopCrave
If you watch the show, then you'd know that half of the scenes "getting high" (which are actually reduced this season) are actually showing Rue's life go to the lowest point she's been at and she's going to face consequences. If people are dumb enough to copy, that's on them.
@Black9jaIcon
@DKuzNY
I'm glad someone spoke on it. She's selective with her roles as she's stated before, but people think she's in everything when the truth is she has been working towards her own exposure for years off screen, and has only just started getting more roles on screen.
@Birdsquawks_
@HailEternal
it's not. and if you wanted a "comic accurate" mj, zendaya has dyed her hair red several times to show you what that will look like. there was no need to alter a real person's facial features for something you could've literally done by just replacing her with another actress.
@ivybabywhy
@diandrasdiandra
she hasn't let any opportunities go because of the show. none of the cast has seeing how booked they are even outside of filming. what she needs to do is start accepting more roles instead of declining them.
at the end of the day zendaya remains one of the most in demand actresses of her generation & no amount of complaining on twitter is going to stop directors from wanting her
@highassnoah
@aokivarda
and where has she had a bad performance in those movies? you can't go one second saying it was the movies that were bad and then trying to blame them on her once someone points out your point not adding up.
@ami_dda
@tbydoja
@PopCrave
And if they're using the show that explicitly shows you the consequences of that as an encouragement then therapy is needed.
@he11okittyjesus
@vveetto
she controls mostly finances and everyone has already spoken about her being welcoming. she doesn't have as much power as you think and still every experience with her has been described as positive.
she gets hated on for attention. she's one of the only true stars of her generation and widely loved by the public, so people hate on her to either feel better about themselves or because they want to feel special. she's also one of one. there isn't going to be another her.
so many things to say as z's performance but i just have to say that i love how well she portrays the different stages of her life. you see exactly when & how tashi becomes who she is in the present day & it's like watching two different people when you see her earlier on.
@Skute
@cinebennett
She never said that's what her point was. And it's an odd one to make considering once again, Zendaya didn't begin having power over any part of her role until after the pandemic. Every actor has their own boundaries and not every actor has been nude on the show
you can't talk about "it girls" of this generation without zendaya's name coming up. if people were honest with themselves, her name would be the one mentioned first. there's a new narrative every day, but there's a reason she stands on her own. she has it. & she's incomparable.
so he just confirmed that she was also suffering because of the harassment she was getting, yet there were some people on here saying she wouldn't see the hate or that it didn't matter. your desperation to dogpile on women for any little thing you can find resulted in real pain.
