Overall, this study provides valuable insight into the role culture plays in promoting PYD in Mexican-origin youth, highlighting the need to consider cultural context when designing and implementing PYD programs. #PositiveYouthDevelopment #CulturalContext #MexicanOriginYouth

This suggests that integrating cultural processes within PYD programs could enhance their effectiveness, particularly for Mexican-origin youth. By recognizing and celebrating cultural strengths, youth may develop a stronger sense of identity, leading to increased well-being.

Exciting findings indicated that greater ethnic pride, familismo, and respeto played a critical role in promoting PYD across mid-adolescence. Importantly, the contribution of cultural factors on PYD did not differ by adolescent gender or nativity.

In this study, we document evidence of the Five Cs model of PYD in a sample of Mexican-origin adolescents using data from the @CFPresearch and tested the extent to which adolescents' ethnic pride, familismo, and respeto predicted PYD across ages 14 to 16.
