Two weeks ago myself &

Today I joined Lord Mayor Cllr. Mary Rasmussen in laying a wreath at the Hillsborough Memorial at Anfield, to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the tragedy
The families and survivors are in my thoughts today and have my unwavering support, which is echoed by everyone here in

🗞️ NEWS: Commissioner intervention will end & all powers will be returned to Liverpool City Council on time in June
👏 I want to thank all the Council staff, the Cabinet and all our Councillors for their hard work in achieving this
📺 WATCH: Check out my statement below 👇
📺 VIDEO: Addressing homelessness is a key priority for us. Despite the Government turning their backs, we are working hard towards our goal of zero homelessness. We recently opened a temporary night support hub during this cold weather, while we implement our long term strategy
Earlier this year we wrote to DfT to state we wouldn’t stand for “cheap & nasty” scaled back options for NPR & HS2.
What is reported here is completely unacceptable.
This is a disgrace. Nothing for Liverpool again & the vast majority of the region overlooked whilst cash goes to wealthy areas. This is Levelling Down.
LCR will get £710million from this fund & I know how hard
@MetroMayorSteve
@LpoolCityRegion
@Merseytravel
teams have fought for this cash.
Now to focus on delivering the new battery trains, green bus routes, cycle lanes & more
Looking forward to a productive debate tonight. This report should act as a catalyst for change and I am committed to getting on with implementing its recommendations. I will also be calling on the Government to give us the funding and devolution we need to deliver for Liverpool
