Our report uncovers China's massive colonial boarding school system in Tibet. 800,000 - 900,000 Tibetan children ages 6-18 are separated frm their parents & families in schools designed to strip them of their identity. This # doesn't include 4 & 5 yr-olds in boarding pre-schools.
Separated from their families, hidden from the world: China's vast system of colonial boarding schools inside Tibet. Read the new report by @tibetaction at https://t.co/9PDgDkcxxo

As young as four years old — Tibetan children are being separated from families and placed in China’s colonial boarding schools in occupied Tibet. Thank you @vishalarora_in for shedding light on this. @tibetaction @SFTHQ @CTA_TibetdotNet @lhadon @newsreel_asia

CM @PemaKhanduBJP expressed serious concern at #China’s refusal to enter into binding international water treaties and its selective sharing of hydrological data. He emphasized the urgent need for cooperative governance of shared water resources in Asia. https://t.co/To3lIUGuV3

Thanks @BethanyAllenEbr for this important piece but I want to explain why China-related groups have become reliant on USG funding. Many people do not appreciate just *how hard* it is to raise funds for China-related human rights & democracy work. https://t.co/ZrM7479Gz9

Mr. Varennes, You were the first to speak out in defense of Tibetan children and sound the global alarm on this issue together with your UN colleagues in 2022. Thank you for continuing to take action for them. 🙏🏽 https://t.co/bxP9b3Qy93

Every year, more than a million #Tibetan & #Uyghur #children in #China are separated from families, most sent to residential schools. Why? To forcibly assimilate & make them 'good' Chinese citizens. I am happy to contribute to this excellent piece in New York Times.

For Ms Sangdrol, there has been some comfort in seeing her fellow Tibetans band together during a...crisis. "Although it is heartbreaking to see the natural disaster ..., I am very happy to see that Tibetans inside Tibet still maintain their strong unity as before."

The earthquake in Tibet, and absolutely everything that happens there, must be seen within this context: Tibetans have no freedom. Zero civil or political liberties. No right to do - even in a natural disaster - what normal people do: Help. Post videos. Share info.
Tibet is one of the least free places in the world, with a #FreedomInTheWorld score of 0/100. All residents are denied their fundamental rights, though Tibetan cultural and religious identity is especially repressed by CCP authorities. Learn more: https://t.co/8ToH4RmUd0

"A video posted by "Bodong Kangzhuo" on WeChat said 2 nuns from Zongbu Monastery died in the earthquake. Now this video cannot be opened. Originally a reporter for "China Tibet Net", her video about this Monastery has been edited and the part about the dead nuns is missing."

“Chinese state media has been focusing on propaganda activities such as having Tibetan children wave Chinese flags. They are forcing affected residents to express their gratitude to the Chinese govt, and...display...Xi Jinping’s photos in the temporary shelters provided.”
Chinese authorities in Tibet have forbidden aid workers and Buddhist monks from entering areas of the region struck by deadly earthquakes last week, three residents of the region and a Tibetan in exile told Radio Free Asia. #China #Tibet
