We are grateful to all the individual and corporate sponsors and our team of volunteers that enable us to continue to support the increase of vulnerable people needing help. 4/5

We already provide support to hundreds of people who are struggling with their mental and physical health, now they’ll have an even harder time accessing services that have been under-resourced for years. 3/5

The result of this week’s vote will only mean a further increase in the number of people needing our services. Talk of budgets can distance us from the very human challenges being faced every day on Birmingham’s streets. 2/5

About the Birmingham City Council budget cuts🧵 Although we are not directly affected by the cuts announced this week, for several years we’ve been seeing the compound impact on people’s lives of disappearing funding and the cost of living crisis. 1/5

A @Shelter report says an extra 40,000 people will be trying to survive without homes this Christmas - almost the population of Smethwick. We’ll continue to be there for Birmingham’s vulnerable people, all year round.
