An excellent piece by @Chakrabortty. Can’t pay and they really do take it away: what happens when the bailiffs come knocking.

May we remember and celebrate the lives of Barnaby Webber, Grace Kumar and Ian Coates. Nottingham lost three wonderful and cherished members of our community. My heart goes out to all who loved them. May they rest in peace.

People of working age who have a terminal illness are twice as likely to spend their final year of life in poverty. Paying them their pension would go some way to addressing this. Surely it’s a no brainer?! ⁦@Ashgate_Hospice⁩ ⁦@APCSW1

In Nottingham, and the rest of the country, much of this can be traced back to austerity politics. The impact of austerity on health has been enormous. My long-read investigating austerity and health in Nottingham here:

Next to no savings means anxiety all the time. Alongside food insecurity and fuel poverty, the constant struggle to make ends meet damages mental and physical health. https://t.co/iksgVQ3weJ

Hey 👋 red wall MPs 👋 How many people earn over a million a year in your constituency? How many families surviving on the breadline? They won’t forget your scorched earth mini budget! 👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋

Why is there no national health & care workforce strategy? 42 individual integrated care systems, 219 Trusts & 400 councils are having to make up their own plan in a strategic vacuum. Shortage of health & social care staff is the biggest risk in the face of a demand perfect storm

With shortages in nearly every single medical specialty & burnt out doctors retiring early/going part time it is crazy to be CUTTING the number of medical places. Sadly what happens when you put £ into the NHS without a workforce strategy https://t.co/x6lbMyYyTq
