I’ll be honest, it’s a challenging time to serve in elected office. The increase in violence against elected officials & the chaos in Washington weigh on me. But I can't imagine being anywhere else that could have a bigger impact on the issues I care about & serve my community.

August 4th is a big milestone! Ten years ago today, I won a special election where we flipped a seat in the #PAHouse that most people thought would never go blue. That election changed the course of my life & I’m so grateful for everything we’ve been able to accomplish together!

The last time Lancaster County elected a Democrat to the Pennsylvania Senate was in 1889, when John S. Hoover won a special election. 136 years later, James Malone joins the club.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (@AP) _ Democrat Dan Goughnour is the winner of a special election in Pennsylvania, keeping majority control of the state House in his party’s hands. Goughnour beat Republican Chuck Davis on Tuesday for a seat in the Mon Valley region southeast of Pittsburgh.

For everyone following our fight to hold our one-seat Democratic Majority in the #PAHouse, here’s an update. It all comes down to Frank Burns in Cambria County, where they are currently hand-counting votes due to systemic failures w/ printed ballots. Currently at 101-101!
