So how can Labour and trade union members be a good ally to sex workers? 1) ask for a meeting with your local Labour reps. Ask them to meet with sex worker led groups, health projects and others about why full decrim is necessary

Shameful quote from @ThangamDebb. Sex workers want full decriminalisation precisely because sex work is unsafe. Increasing criminalisation increases the power of abusers. Sex workers cannot work in legal premises, organise at work. There are safer ways.

We agree that workers should int be spoken about in dehumanising terms, but many MPs speaking about how care workers are being referred to, use dehumanising terms for sex workers. All workers deserve rights

On World AIDS Day it is important to highlight that many MPs still refuse to support the full decriminalisation of sex work. It is impossible to end transmission of HIV without this key measure and sex workers are partners in this fight. The Nordic Model undermines this

We recently spoke to @BigIssue about the results of our recent research survey, exploring the reasons why people entered and remained in sex work. You can read the article here: https://t.co/gTOqmDG4Rh (1/9)

The rising cost of living, cuts to benefits and welfare and poorly paid jobs have left some women and disabled people turning to sex work.

Grossly offensive post by an MP comparing sex workers to rapists and Nazis. This feeds violence and stigma against sex workers

Another example of the quality of police officers we employ. They seem to be a collection of pervs, narcissists, rapists, criminals, idiots, Nazis, and now prostitutes.

Closing down websites where sex workers are able to advertise themselves independently will force sex workers back into brothels and exploitative labour relationships with bosses. Again, policies made about sex work w/o input from sex workers create conditions for exploitation.

Online advertising has enabled sex workers to work independently and indoors. Any attempt to close all sites is going to increase exploitation, harm and violence

Members of the Labour government are continuing to seek legislation that would criminalise all online sex work platforms which will result in sex workers being forced into more exploitative conditions as it will be harder to work independently.

Some Nordic Model supporters wanted all online platforms for sex work to be banned and sex workers ensured that OFCOM consulted with them so that there won’t be blanket criminalisation of all online advertising

Sex workers have been raising the alarm about certain aspects of the Online Safety Act since 2021. If you are concerned about data privacy, freedom of expression and workers rights, you should be listening to sex workers
