Was literally just talking to some co-workers about being in the Zune crowd when I was in high school and how advanced the desktop interface was compared to iPod. I was met with... "What's a Zune?"
In honor of @MarvelStudios’ #GotGVol3 we’re giving away this never opened Microsoft Zune. We have no idea if it works. Like and RT for a chance to win! US 18+. Ends 5/17/23. Rules: https://t.co/Mdr2C4z9aY.

Here's the scary side of the Damar Hamlin story nobody but @Gbush91 wants to talk about.

for both of these threads around sales / eng work, we use @Vivun_Inc to help track real $ against product gaps against opportunities which provides impactful data to product teams on what actually moves the needle
Let me tell another story: A sales group kept going to engineering and PM to ask for stuff to be built that customers would pay for. Nobody built any of it, because they used frameworks & theory to determine what would be “higher impact” So the sales team sold what they had 1/X

After being with my wife who's a nurse, and following @DGlaucomflecken, stuff like this will never not be funny to me. Our closest Texaco Mike is 30 miles away.

I think I'll try and make this a regular thing, taking a day and rescheduling any calls to clear just a single stretch of uninterrupted focus time on passion projects that actually make a difference. Shipping things just feels good.

It felt amazing. These little projects I'm so passionate about, and in the moment, I'm the only one who cares about it, but being able to focus and be creative and then ship a little tool that your peers find valuable, it is a great feeling.

Today I had some calls cancel or push, and I had this span of time that was completely open. I had other admin things I could be doing, but I decided to just work on these impact projects. I was able to just let my brain do what it does best, focus on these tiny complex problems.

I'm a bit of a scatterbrain though, a lot going on mentally, constant task switching. I try to get bits in here and there, but if the time I have does not match with the budget my brain has determined I need to work on it... I just stop or breakdown. I need that dedicated gap.

But that task list also contains internal side projects. Things that actually drive impact, but no one ever gets to or are deprioritized by other teams, so my mentality has always been "well... I'll do it then." And usually, I do. I ship a lot of little things on a monthly basis.

Most days I'm in back to back calls, whether it be customers, demos, internal, etc. On top of that, I have the admin tasks that go along with the job, validating opps, preparing decks, running reports, writing scripts, etc. I keep a running tab of todos in my Google task list...
