5. From that visit it was obvious that the groundwork would lead to these exciting breakthroughs. I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of @sundayrobotics and help make Memo clamp free! Thanks @tonyzzhao @chichengcc @clayhaight !

3. A lot of the time “can our robot do this” comes down to can a teleoperater actually do it. I was expecting a dextrous UMI, but wearing the Skill Capture Glove™️ was so much more intuitive than I could’ve expected. @clayhaight did an incredible job; you can do anything with it

2. After the proof of concept, it was clear all focus was going into building up the glove, data and infrastructure to make meaningful progress, and the team was entirely uninterested in wasting time tuning demos in the low data regime

1. When I first visited the house in February, I was expecting a polished demo. There was an impressively generalizable shoe organizing policy, but struggled a bit and the robot itself was hacked and held together with clamps. But I walked away incredibly blown away...

It started with @tonyzzhao and @chichengcc in their apartment in April 2024. We moved out of our hacker house in Mountain View in February of 2025 with 10 people. Today, we have over 30 team members. Velocity of progress to a real, useful robot is everything to us. The progress

When training ACT-1, we treated data from diverse, long-horizon tasks in the wild as a first-class citizen. This makes generalization the default, not an exception. The capability envelope expands. More to come.

The table-to-dishwasher task is the classic nightmare scenario for roboticists: Long-horizon, highly dexterous, precise, whole-body manipulation combined with delicate, transparent, reflective, and deformable objects. Yet Memo handles it so naturally and elegantly.
