A nice writeup on the new LLM course I taught with @DataKyle at Yale. To help MBA students understand ingredients of LLMs at an intuitive level of abstraction, so they can creatively mix & match functionality, I taught using the LangChain framework.

I am in shock, as I share this sad news. Debu Talukdar, Professor of Marketing at SUNY Buffalo, passed away peacefully this past Friday on Sep 23, 2022. My remembrance of Debu, a true scholar, family man and dear friend.

Congrats, @Minkyung on publication of the JMP. Was a joy working with you and @Kosuke on it. Love the tweet narrative! Look forward to your followup work. The general framework should help address many other incentive and job design questions.

My JMP now in print! With @ksudhir1 and @Chanman_ECON, we study salespeople multitasking for csr acquisition and maintenance, compensated on multiple metrics. Multidimensional compensation is unsurprisingly common; 85+% from WorldatWork survey. A 🧵 (1/N)

I did have an email exchange earlier with him about the paper, but was still floored to hear what he said. Senator Maroney speaking:. And link to the paper:.

Attended a ceremonial signing by Gov. Lamont of CT privacy (GDPR and CCPA like) law in Orange CT. Was floored when Sen. Maroney (lead sponsor for law) introduced me to some House and Senate colleagues saying he read my GDPR paper and cited it a lot during deliberations. Wow!

My take on privacy and GDPR.Effective regulation, is not about making it impossible to share information; it’s one that creates an environment of trust, where we share with confidence, and gain the benefits of sharing, while being protected against abuse.

Glad to see @YaleSOM back in the top 10 and reminded that Yale’s addition to this elite club has been one of the few structural changes of the last decade.

.A write up of our forthcoming paper in #NeurIPS with Yale CS colleague @NisheethVishnoi efficiently sampling from Big Panel Data to speed estimation and reduce data storage and transfers. Also useful to reduce data breach risk in the age of #GDPR.

Mind boggling article on the corruption in People meter based TV rating metrics in India. A free TV and people meter was kept in a different room of monitored households, and some bribed local cable TV fixer manipulated whatever was "seen" in the home.
