I finished the full LotR trilogy as a 17y/o in a week while working my summer job, with a dictionary on the side because I was training my broken English. Reading really isn't the monumental task that people make it today.

I get that people don't read anymore but the most common edition of the Talmud has 2.7k double-sided "folios" or 5.4k single pages. The Harry Potter books have 4k pages alltogether. You can easily read the Talmud in a year or less.
