It was an absolute pleasure to address this fabulous group of folk working to keep connecting communities right across Scotland, and I applaud every one of them. That’s why we pushed to get £4m into our plugged In Communities programme to give them the tools they need.
We were delighted to celebrate Scotland’s Community Transport movement at @ScotParl last night ahead of #CTWeek25 Fantastic to be joined by @JimFairlieLogie, @GrahamSMSP & @MaggieChapman, plus members from across Scotland @transcotland #MoreThanAMinibus

When newly-elected Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson started converting car lanes to bike lanes in 2009, pundits claimed it was political suicide. In 2018, he stepped down after three terms as the longest-serving mayor in history. So what can this tale teach us about "bikelash"?🧵

Thanks Eddie and every one of your colleagues, working hard through the night so Glaswegians can wake up to a cleaner city. If fewer folk dropped litter in the first place, they’d be able to do even more good work. Please do your bit to help Eddie and Glasgow: use the bin! 🚮

Bad news for cities. 🚨 Cars are parked 95% of the time, eating up valuable street space. Now, new research from Lisbon shows parked cars are also intensifying urban heat: by as much as +3.8°C. 🌡️ 🧵

It is 39°C in Lisbon today. The same in Madrid. In Paris next week it will also be 39°C. Look at this picture. People are under trees, where it can be up to 12°C cooler. Given trees take decades to mature and many don’t survive, cities need to plant many more. And urgently.
