Important work from @HuiruDong and team!
When researchers analyzed how long patients stayed on buprenorphine prescriptions, they found that the length of time had increased among white patients but decreased among Black patients since 2014 and Hispanic patients since 2009.

Has the "big data" revolution in social science made qualitative methods obsolete, or had no impact. Neither. It has made them more important than ever. Our new paper in @NatureHumBehav

“Be attentive and available to people who use drugs, who distrust the health care system. Create systems of care that are accessible to them and offer them long-lasting provider relationships. … meet them where they are. Deliver an actionable, tangible response to their needs.”

Thanks to @pharmalot for this GREAT reporting! Those conducting research must ensure their #clinicaltrial samples are representative of the intended patient population. When this doesn't happen, they should be held to account cc @AishaLangford
