@waitbutwhy The not-so-small gap between animals and humans cuts both ways. Not only are humans more vicious, carnal, and animal-like than we think we are, but animals themselves have far more empathy, compassion, and "humanlike" emotions than we give them credit.

@briantylercohen Government spending is an input into GDP, so yes a reduction in spending by definition reduces GDP. Joe Manchin rejected BBB because he believes it will push debt to unsustainable levels. The fact that it will increase the G part of the GDP equation in 2022 is not as relevant
