815 pm, 65 F, and still light out on the Lakefront path. These are times to be savored in Chicago.

"Just hang in there and get the free base" requires an Anthony Rizzo reference, no? @WatchMarquee @JimDeshaies.

The @NordicTrack customer service through @iFit is starting to feel like a sham. Left hanging today on the chat for more than 90 minutes. This after waiting on the phone for that long on 3 different tries. A $2000 treadmill starts a high pitched whine in less than a week.

An incredibly important piece, as standing is (imo) certainly a substantive cause of action question, both what the cause of action is and who owns it. We also need much more of this doctrinalist methodology.
Here’s my latest foray with Ernie Young into the law of standing. This time we focus on standing to assert injuries that depend on probabilistic assessments, an issue that comes up in a wide variety of settings. Just out in @michlawreview.

Brilliant John Early @bejohnce show at @ThaliaHallChi. Singing, passion, sharp observational storytelling. My Czech elders would be glad the venue is still going strong, even if it's not polka anymore.

A great profile of @northwesternlaw alum Alan Mills, as he steps down as Exec Dir of the UPLC (but does *not* retire). Alan has shared his knowledge and passion with generations of students and colleagues. @alan_uplc .

Alan Mills, whose work helped lead to the closure of one of Illinois' most infamous prisons, is staying on as a staff attorney at the community legal clinic.

A nice service addition, but bc through DC it’s 47 hours over 2100 miles. From 1940-71, the City of Miami went Chicago to Miami in 32 hours (via Birmingham) - 700 fewer miles.

Amtrak on Monday announced a new temporary route called the Floridian, which will have direct trips between Chicago and Miami starting Nov. 10.
